Our honest take
Sandos Cancun is the pick for couples who want a boutique, adults-only feel rather than a sprawling mega-resort, and the terrace handles up to 300 guests, which is unusual for a property that size. If your celebration is on the larger side but you still want somewhere intimate, that combination is hard to find. Sandos Caracol Nature Resort & Water Park sits at the other end: budget-friendly, family-focused, with cenotes, a 29-slide water park and wildlife roaming the grounds. There are even resident howler monkeys. Kids love it, and it's a sensible choice when your guest list is full of young families watching their costs.
