Direct flights to Montego Bay from Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Halifax, Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver (seasonal from some cities).

North Coast

Closest to the Montego Bay airport, with the biggest selection of wedding resorts, easy transfers, and the island's most famous excursions on the doorstep.

Montego Bay & Rose Hall

The gateway to Jamaica and the easiest option for wedding groups: most resorts are 15 to 30 minutes from the airport, so guests are on the beach within the hour. Rose Hall is the upscale stretch east of town, with polished resorts, championship golf and the famous Great House, while Montego Bay itself adds the "Hip Strip," nightlife and easy day trips.

Best for: Larger guest lists, short transfers, couples who want luxury resorts and lots for guests to do.

Falmouth & Trelawny

Between Montego Bay and Ocho Rios, this stretch of coast is where many of Jamaica's newest resorts have been built. Wide beaches, a quieter feel than Montego Bay, and the Luminous Lagoon, one of only a handful of glowing bioluminescent bays in the world, right nearby.

Best for: Couples who want a newer resort, a calmer setting still within an hour of the airport, memorable group excursions.

Ocho Rios & Runaway Bay

Lush, green and full of things to do: Dunn's River Falls, Blue Hole, Mystic Mountain and river tubing are all minutes away. Ocho Rios has a lively town and cruise-port energy; Runaway Bay just west is quieter and better value. About 90 minutes from Montego Bay airport.

Best for: Adventurous groups, couples who want waterfalls and gardens in their photos, value-conscious weddings.

West & South Coast

Jamaica's most laid-back coasts, with legendary sunsets, cliffside views and beaches that feel a world away from the crowds.

Negril

Seven Mile Beach is the postcard: soft sand, calm shallow water and the best sunsets on the island. Negril is relaxed and barefoot, with beachfront resorts along the bay and cliffside spots at the West End where you can watch the sun drop into the sea from a rum bar. About 90 minutes from Montego Bay, and worth every minute.

Best for: Beach-focused weddings, sunset ceremonies, couples who want a laid-back vibe with a lively side.

South Coast

Jamaica's quiet side. Long, undeveloped beaches, a handful of standout resorts, and the only overwater villas and overwater chapel in the Caribbean. Farther from everything, which is exactly the point: this is the coast for couples who want privacy, romance and a resort that feels like their own.

Best for: Adults-only luxury weddings, overwater-bungalow honeymoons, intimate celebrations away from the crowds.
